KEEPING YOU INFORMED
One of the great memories I have from my childhood is all the carnivals and fairs that happened in our community. Indeed the Kinsmen Fair at Memorial Park was one of the highlights of the year. The Durham Central Fair, Brooklyn Fair, Fiesta and many others come to mind.
As Durham grows so fast and we become more diverse, we can see the great additions from our cultural diversity from things like the Caribbean Festival to Ramadan events and so on.
Many people move to Durham for our unique downtowns, for our small towns and that great feeling of participation. I now look at the evolution of our fairs into Ribfests that attract thousands, Food Truck Festivals which are so unique and outstanding and I see the pride and sense of community from all folks calling Durham home.
Our future in Durham is our residents, their skill sets, their sense of community, their cultural diversity and everyone sharing our great Region and making it a better place to live. Indeed it is the residents of Durham that will continue to make us thrive and proud of the seeds we have sewn today.
Till Next Week
